My favorite author would have to be Bill Watterson. For those of you who are sadly out of touch with reality, he wrote and illustrated the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes." There is nothing like a 1st grader with more cynicism than a 60 year old who's been through a bitter life.
Sadly, his comic strip was removed from print after Waterson retired a couple of years ago. It was a sad, sad year as I remember because Gary Larson, the author and illustrator of "The Far Side," also retired around that same time and so like a breath of air, both of the greatest comic strips of all time were gone.
My girlfriend is named Angela and she attends a university also. This is both our first year at university and we're both enjoying being away from the control of our parents and the freedom to decide how to spend our time, but it's tough being apart from each other. I don't recommend long-distance relationships.
My favorite band, at the moment, is Creed. I really love their semi-hard, nice edge sound and they have great lyrics. I also like Sarah McLachlan quite a bit and am in the process of collecting her large CD collection. My girlfriend is actually the one who got me hooked on her musical style. Very good singer, she is.
